  • Athletes planning to participate must: :
    • Be a member in good standing of the APQ or the Ontario Physique Association (OPA), based on the athlete’s residency address;
    1. To become a member of the APQ: « Member enrolment form » « Renewal »
    2. To become a member of the OPA: http://www.bao.on.ca/joinOPA

MEMBERSHIP ID

  • Have his or her primary residence in Quebec. ID confirming residency may be required on the day of final registration. In such a case, you will need to present one of the following:
  1. Driver’s Licence;
  2. Copy of your residential lease, the deed of purchase or an invoice confirming your ID and address;
  3. Copy of a phone, hydro or cable invoice, or your municipal/school tax statement, indicating your name and address (must be dated March 1, 2016, or later);
  4. Copy of correspondence with your name and address from either an educational institution or any one level of government (municipal, provincial or federal) dated March 1, 2016, or later.
  • Complete the online early registration form and provide your valid membership number, then send to: “Championship Early Registration Form”
  • Complete the Final Registration at the indicated date & time for each of the categories (please see “Schedule”).

MEMBERSHIP ID

APQ
All athletes planning to register for an APQ, CBBF and/or IFBB Championship event must first be a member in good standing of the APQ. Membership fees are of $100/year (taxes included). Membership is valid from the time the membership number is issued until October 31 of each year.

OPA
All Ontario athletes wishing to register for this championship must be members in good standing of the OPA. Membership fee is of $100/year and valid for a duration of one year, based on the current calendar year (ie. January 1st to December 31st), regardless of your registration date.

*     Athletes who intend to register for the Coupe Espoir Québec, to be held on November 13, 2016, or renew their membership for the upcoming year can do so starting September 26, 2016.

To register of renew your membership you must:

  • Complete the appropriate form, either the “Registration Form” or the “Renewal Form” in the “Members’”

*     Only those members in good standing on October 31, 2015 may complete the « Renewal Form ». All others are required to use the “Registration Form.”

  1. Your membership number will be issued by return email within 72 hours.
  2. You will be invoiced $100 for your annual membership fees at final registration.

ONLINE EARLY REGISTRATION

APQ Participation fees are of:

  • $170 (taxes included) for your first choice of category
  • $100 (taxes included) more for a second category
  • $50 (taxes included) for anti-doping tests

All athletes planning to participate in the André Maillé Natural Classic are required the complete the online early registration form no later than Friday, Sept. 2, 2016.

A confirmation of early registration will be automatically sent to you by email. You will be required to present this confirmation upon request (by email or printed copy) on the day and at the time of your final registration.

Please note that no request for phone assistance will be available once the early bird online registration is closed.

*   If you haven’t received an email confirmation of your request within 72 hours, this means that your registration procedure was not properly completed. In such a case, you need to contact Jean-Jacques Dugas by email at jjdugas@apquebec.com as soon as possible. You need to include a phone number where you can be reached.

*   APQ Late Early Registration: You may complete your early registration form when you will be convened for the final registration on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 (please see « Schedule »), but you will be required to pay an additional $100 fee (taxes included). Please note however that no registration will be possible after the scheduled times (see “Schedule”).

*   APQ Coaches who wish to have backstage access will need to confirm their membership status no later than Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016. No membership registration will be admitted on the day of the competition. (Please see “Backstage Access”)

FINAL REGISTRATION

You must present yourself on the day of the competition and at the predetermined time for your category (see “Schedule” section) with all required documents.

  • At final registration, all competing athletes must have in-hand their music CD, posing suits, ID, cash in the exact amount in order to pay all registration fees, photo sets, etc.
  • The CD must not contain anything other than the music for the athlete’s routine and it must be placed in its case. (Music must be in good taste, without blasphemous lyrics, or it will be cut out and the athlete will be penalized).
  • All competitors (men and women) are required to wear their posing suits at weigh-in and for measurements.

A mandatory meeting for all athletes will take place at the Casino Royal/Salomon room of the Ramada Plaza Gatineau/Manoir du Casino hotel

It is important to carefully read and understand all rules and regulations prior to participating in the different competitions. We are currently undertaking an important review of the APQ’s rules & regulations. Please note that the André Maillé Natural Classic (APQ-OPA) is an open championship for all and serves as qualification for the following:

APQ-member athletes –

  • All participants will qualify for the for the next two editions (2016 & 2017) of the Provincial Natural Physiques Championship;

OPA-member athletes –

  • Winners of the first five positions will qualify for the OPA Provincial Natural Championship (for 2016 or 2017);
  • Overall Winners will obtain lifetime qualification for the Natural Provincials.

GENERAL INFORMATION (Back to top)

You will be provided with the roll-out of both preliminaries and finals.

* It is always possible that a change may occur in the roll-out of the finals. If so, you will be informed at the mandatory athletes meeting.

During finals, a total of 60 seconds will be allocated for routines in each of the following categories: Bodybuilding, Bodybuilding Classic & Women’s Physique.

During preliminaries, Figures and Bikinis will execute quarter turns and, during the finals, an I-walk.

* Information regarding stage performances will be provided at the mandatory meeting.

During preliminaries, Men’s Physiques will perform quarter turns and, during the finals, an I-walk.

* Information regarding stage performances will be provided during the mandatory meeting.

Two Marshall’s will be stationed at the stage entrance in order to facilitate circulation amongst athletes by indicating exactly where they need to stand and what to do.

 Backstage Access :

“Backstage” Access for APQ coaches

Backstage access is restricted to the following:

  • Athletes registered for the Championship “Early Registration Form”
  • Coaches who are ”Members” in good standing of the APQ and who have obtained a backstage wristband.

Coaches may purchase the backstage wristband at a cost of $50 directly from the event promoter during the finals’ registration. Please note that the backstage wristband does not give access to the main hall.

  • APQ Executive Members.
  • Media representatives and the event promoter’s team.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: All APQ coaches will need to confirm their membership status, pay their fees and have obtained the backstage wristband no later than 4:30 p.m. on the day of final registration, ie. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016. Failure to have done so, will incur a late payment fee of $ 100 for all (including IFBB pro athletes).

“Backstage” Access for OPA coaches

  • OPA coaches must have their tickets in hand (preliminaries & finals) in order to purchase a backstage wristband ($50), to be paid during final registration.

HAIRSTYLING & MAKEUP

Stephanie Pouliot and her team are the only official hairstylists and makeup artists authorized backstage to do touch ups.

We will be providing false eyelashes. You should make plans for lipstick touch ups during the day. Avoid any exposure to the sun or to tanning lamps one week prior to the competition.

Glen Grant will be onsite as the official photographer. The cost for pictures of your performance on stage is $ 115. Order forms for those pictures will be available at final registration. Only cash payment is accepted.
